Sodium silicate is the chemical substance with formula Na₂SiO₃. It is also known as sodium metasilicate which is the main component of commercial sodium silicate solutions. It is colorless glassy or crystalline solids, or white powders. When it soluble in water, it produces alkaline form silicate. Sodium Silicate can be produced by heating a mixture of dense soda ash and silica at a high melting point. There are two types of Sodium Silicate i.e. in the solid and in the liquid form. Sodium Silicate comes in two grades i.e. Neutral and Alkaline. Again, it can be further classified as on the basis of liquid form of Sodium Silicates into two types: alkaline Liquid and neutral liquid.
