Activated Bleaching Earth, also known as ‘wash clay’ is a type of clay that helps to remove the colors from the edible and non-edible oils. Naturally-active Bleaching Earth has been used under the name of Fuller’s Earth. The activated bleaching earth is used for decolorizing and refining of the oils especially vegetable and other edible and non-edible oils. Bentonite is the raw material of activated bleaching earth is mined in India. This mineral-rich substance is used for its absorbing, bleaching and filtering properties. Bentonite can be transformed into highly active Bleaching Earths by treatment with acid.
