Acid-resistant bricks are mainly made of quartz, feldspar and clay. They are made of raw materials, such as clay of suitable composition with low lime and iron content, feldspar, flint or sand and vitrified at high temperatures in ceramic kilns. It is created from high silica shale and fired at higher temperatures than those used for conventional brick.
